Announcing New SKUs for Your Diverse Shipping Needs

SKUs

SKUs to fit your Shipping Needs

Today we’re announcing some exciting upgrades to the ShipHawk product line.  We originally launched these offerings for two reasons: 1) to give enterprise customers an easy way to try our products out before purchasing and 2) to give small-to-midsized companies with lower complexity a way to access the magic of ShipHawk.  With today’s changes, that access now includes support for a wider range of services—parcel, large goods (LTL), home delivery as well as blanket wrap—in all SKUs, even our free starter product. We’ve also packaged a custom SKU for those of you looking to manage your current parcel and freight tariffs in a single place.

Product SKUs: Import, Export Enrich, and Optimize

Product Update – April 2016

This month, we released the Products tab (and APIs) on ShipHawk. With our Products tools, you can upload SKU data into ShipHawk and leverage this information throughout the platform to streamline your pre- and post- order workflows.

Historically, you had to manage this information outside of the platform; now, ShipHawk can be your central source of truth for all shipping related product information – so you can leverage data you already have on hand and, together, we can enrich your products.

With Products, you can:

R

Import products from eCommerce platforms like Shopify and Magento

R

Handle Products that need to be shipped in more than one box (ex. “3 pc. sectional sofa”)

R

Enrich critical product specific shipping data:

-Shipping dimensions (to avoid costly dimensional weight                    issues)

      -Shipping weight

      -Freight class

      -NMFC codes

      -Country of manufacture

      -Harmonization codes

R

Associate Products with specific originating locations (warehouses, distributors, individual sellers, etc.)

Shipping Policies

Product Update – January 2016

Regardless of what your customers end up paying for shipping, we know how important it is to have the control you need post-order.

When it comes to processing your orders, you generally know how you want your items shipped – whether you just want the cheapest option available or whether you need to use a specific carrier or service based on the product or customer for that particular order.

With ShipHawk’s Shipping Policies you can set up business logic so that as Orders are added to your account, we will actually pre-queue the shipments for your order. This means less time dealing with shipments, faster fulfilling of products, and more time available to manage exceptions.

Shipping API: An Overview

Shipping today is fragmented and opaque, and unfortunately most shipping API’s perpetuate that experience.

  • Shipping API’s typically return quotes rather than rates, which introduces risk into pricing.
  • Many don’t consider packing costs in their quote returns, making the landed cost non-transparent.
  • Most shipping API’s don’t aggregate multiple modes, thus limiting service and cost options.
  • They lack visibility into shipment status. Without updates between pickup and delivery, sellers and their customers are left in the dark.
